Caesars Entertainment taps gaming industry’s oldest sport to recruit top talent for savvy President’s Associate Program
Candidates will enjoy three days of poker, recruitment and activities
LAS VEGAS (Dec. 26, 2012) – Caesars Entertainment Corporation continues to take its recruitment strategy “outside the box” with the eighth-annual MBA Poker Championship and Recruitment Weekend, held at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino January 18 through 20, 2013.
This one-of a-kind recruitment event is expected to draw more than 600 Master in Business Administration students and recent alumni from top business schools across the country.

Caesars Entertainment holds the three-day tournament event each year to fetch astute and savvy candidates for its President’s Associate Program. This two-year apprenticeship provides an exclusive opportunity for candidates to interact with senior executives and participate in strategic business management and analysis at the world’s largest casino-gaming company. Upon successful completion, apprentices may be permanently placed in high-level roles within the company. Four of the 12 president’s associates hired at last year’s MBA Poker event were given full time positions.
“Poker players are generally very analytical and savvy,” said Mary Thomas, Executive Vice President of Human Resources. “These qualities are among the many characteristics we look for in hiring candidates for corporate leadership positions. The MBA Poker Tournament is a creative and practical way to search out top business candidates while having a little fun.”
Formal interviews will take place throughout the weekend and players are invited to participate in a company presentation to learn about the Caesars Entertainment culture and network with recruitment officials.
Caesars Entertainment also invites its business partners to participate in the Recruiters Lounge on Saturday, Jan. 19, providing them unprecedented access to this attractive group of candidates as well as brand-building opportunities. Recruiters from tournament sponsors will be given a book of resumes as well as opportunities to interview candidates.
It is estimated that the top ten players will finish “in the money” with roughly 70 percent of the tournament buy-in awarded as prize money. Remaining proceeds raised by the event will be donated to Keep Memory Alive (KMA), supporting the mission of the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health.
